Who comes in
Since July we have been counting who visits the site and who follows Drive Awake on social media. Here we separate people from automated programs, show how it went, and imagine 2030 with three stated assumptions.
- 17 minthe average time a reader spends on the site
- 12%of September visits come from people who read
- 74%of readers arrive by typing the address or using a bookmark
July, August, September
July = 100. In September recorded visits nearly quadruple, while readers grow by a quarter. The difference is not people: it is automated programs reading the site.
- Readers
- Recorded visits
Up to 2030: three scenarios
These are not forecasts and they use no market figures. They are working assumptions, written out plainly, to be checked against the real data every year. 2026 = 100, based on the data retrieved on 29 September 2026.
Maintenance only: the site stays as it is and grows on its own through search engines.
2027-2030: regular publishing, a site that is easier to find, a real newsletter.
Like B, plus partners who reshare and the signal app in the app stores.
| Scenario | Site | Social media |
|---|---|---|
| A | +25% | +15% |
| B | ×2, then +80%, +60%, +50% | +50% |
| B+ | ×2.6, then ×2, +70%, +50% | +80% |
How to read these figures
We count a visit as a reader if it comes from Switzerland or a neighbouring country and lasts more than 10 seconds. The site uses no cookies and respects anyone who asks not to be tracked: those people are not counted.
From 17 to 23 September many programs read the site. Since 24 September the counter filters them out. Here they are never counted as readers.
In the first months the count also includes visits from the people working on the site. Since 24 September the baseline is clean.
We show the trend, not the figures. The absolute numbers will be added once the clean baseline has three months of data.
What the study still lacks
Ongoing study: it is updated every month.
On the first day of each month a point is added, for the site and for social media.
How many readers per language: Italian, French, German, English.
Which posts really lead people to read, with tracked links.
