Lab
This is where we try out what the platform could become. Each study uses the site’s real data and says what it is testing. These are not final pages and they do not replace the site.
For those assessing programme 2.0Study no. 1 shows, in a few minutes, the move from 1.0 to 2.0, brought forward to June 2026, and where 2.1 is heading.
Where the Lab comes from
The Lab was born to explain the move from 1.0 to 2.0 to those who evaluate it. It is turning into the project’s incubation lab.
Three horizons
- It existsWhat is already on the site and in its data: the 2.0 platform and the network of content.
- We are trying itWhat we build here with the real data: the studies that are online.
- We imagine itWhat does not exist yet: 3.0, an idea with no budget and no commitment.
Path, the growing network
From the promised website to the existing platform, with the network from 1.0 to today.
Open the study →The signal
A circle, an orange horizon, a sentence in the four national languages and in English.
Open the study →Switzerland at night
The country in dots, today's sunlight calculated, and the sleep centres. A pilot study.
Open the study →Who comes in
Who reads the site and who follows us on social media, from July to today, and three scenarios up to 2030.
Open the study →The road of history
Twelve short films on the Swiss newsreel 1940-1975, simulated without archive footage.
Open the study →The car that watches you
What the camera facing the driver sees, what it does not, and on what terms we would work with the industry.
Open the study →Perspectives, the magazine
The first issue of the magazine of the night, as designed: contents, formats, image rules.
Open the study →Awake sleep
The threshold between waking and sleep: what we know, what we do not, and why the answer is still to stop.
Open the study →From question to page
What our readers ask, which page answered, and what is still in progress.
Open the study →Incubator
Ideas accepted by the Lab but not yet studied. Each one has a written question and a stated limit. They contain no data yet.
Corridor talk
What is said in research circles, and what holds up once you look for the source?
Has this ever happened to you?
How do people notice sleepiness at the wheel, according to those who have experienced it?
The map in motion
How does the light change along a road over the course of an evening, and what does it tell us about the moment sleepiness sets in?
Vigil
What changes if the journey is set against the body’s clock: before setting off, on the road, at a stop?
Linked toolsAwake Space is a listening space in English, linked to the Lab. It is an editorial tool: not a study, and it makes no diagnosis. Open Awake Space →
