From question to page
Drive Awake pages also grow out of what people write under our posts. This study shows the thread: the question, the check, the page that answers and the limit that remains.
Open method: questions are read one by one, with no names and no counts.
The thread, in four steps
We read public comments and discussions on the subject one by one, in four languages. We keep the question, not the person.
Every answer looks for a source with a DOI and says where it holds: in the lab, in the simulator or on the road.
The answer goes into a page that already exists, or a new one is made.
Every page also says what we do not know.
Questions that became pages
- «Am I worn out, or sleepy?»
- «Tired or sleepy?», online since 23 September 2026: the question to ask before you drive.
- «Will the open window get me home?»
- «The open window doesn’t wake you», online since 23 September 2026: what cold air and music really do.
- «What about when the car warns me I'm sleepy?»
- Study no. 7, «The car that watches you», since 29 September 2026. The «After the warning» part dates from 30 September.
Questions in progress
From the same readings, not yet online.
- Energy drinks
- What they change compared with coffee, before a journey.
- Microsleep
- The words each language uses for it: colpo di sonno, coup de sommeil, Sekundenschlaf, microsleep.
- «I know the road», «nearly there»
- Two things people tell themselves to keep driving.
- The licence
- The fear of losing it if you talk about your sleep. Answering needs a legal and medical review first.
The rules of reading
No names, no profiles, no recognisable quotations on the site.
A few comments do not tell us what people think. We say that a question arrived, not how many times.
Until there is a source, the question stays open.
What the study still lacks
A new collection of comments is being checked. New questions will be added here afterwards.
Some questions come from people who organise shifts and fleets. We take them up with our scientific partners, not on our own.
Today questions arrive through social media. A way to receive them through the site, without collecting data, is still to be designed.
