The way

Every piece of content is a road. The platform is the map. The threshold is where a way changes state - at the wheel too.

Published: 19.07.2026

Every piece of content is a road, and the platform is the map that holds them together. Network and roads are the same thing seen on two planes. The road is the physical way: driving, crossing, the risk of the wheel. The network is the way of meaning: nodes that connect, the threads between themes. Both are ways of getting from one point to another without getting lost.

The threshold is where a way changes state. Between waking and sleep, between motion and stop, between one node and the next. It is the same figure wherever you look: science measures it, practices inhabit it, cultures have mapped it, myths have told it. Drive Awake observes it from every side and always brings it back to the road.

That is why the platform is not an archive but a network of ways. Every article is a dated, permanent node, connected to others. There are no main doors and service doors: the door of science, of practice, of culture and of the road all lead to the same threshold. None is the right one, and that is the whole point.

道可道,非常道

Chinese · dào kě dào, fēi cháng dào

"The way that can be named is not the constant way." The opening of the Daodejing: a way is walked, not owned.

You need not own a way to walk it. You need to recognise it when it changes. And a way, on the road, changes state without warning.

Sleepiness is the threshold with the eyes open: consciousness eroding while the body keeps driving. It is the danger without a signal. Recognising the threshold before the road does it for us is the whole project.

tao / via / Weg / way

the same word, in each language, says two things at once: the road and the way of walking it.

Before setting off, it helps to know which side you are on.
