Four voices from Monte Verità

The first World Sleep Forum interviews are online. And an island that stops.

August 2026 Newsletter · World Sleep Forum

In November, at Monte Verità, we gathered the voices of leading sleep researchers. The first four are now online, each with its author's signed consent.

Simone Gianini, ACS Central President, on sleep as part of fitness to drive. Michael H. Silber, Mayo Clinic: sleepiness is not normal. Carlos H. Schenck, University of Minnesota: a sleep-deprived society. And Mauro Manconi, sleep neurologist at the EOC and scientific coordinator of the forum: sleep is treacherous, and whoever drives knowing they are sleepy remains responsible.

Each voice has an author page with the video subtitled in four languages. The other four are in the making with their protagonists.

And from the cultural lens: Nyepi, the day the whole of Bali stops for twenty-four hours. A question that holds on the A2 too.

Stopping is not a defeat.
