Drive Awake · Scientific partner
The European Sleep Foundation is the international scientific network that connects those who study sleep across Europe. Part of the science Drive Awake tells begins at its meetings.
Published nodeThe European Sleep Foundation is an international scientific network devoted to sleep and sleep-wake disorders. It brings together clinicians, researchers and institutions, with strong Swiss roots: it runs an international master in sleep medicine together with the Universities of Bern and Italian Switzerland.
Its aim is to advance knowledge of the mechanisms of sleep, to support new diagnostic and therapeutic strategies, and to foster collaboration among professionals and public education. It does so through schools, think tanks, master programmes and research fellowships.
Monte Verità 2025
In 2025 the foundation gathered some of the world's leading sleep experts at Monte Verità in Ascona, with sessions on sleepiness at the wheel and sleep-related violent behaviours. Scientific coordination of the think tank is by Prof. Mauro Manconi (EOC). Drive Awake was there and documented the sessions and interviews. Monte Verità and the interviews.
The European Sleep Foundation is the network that holds European sleep science together. Drive Awake gathers its voices and takes them beyond the conference: into culture, into story, onto the road. Same direction: knowledge of sleep in the service of alertness and prevention.
